![]() ![]() ![]() This way if I want to move my libraries from say 512GB to a new 2TB drive, I would just need to copy the files from one drive to another, remove 'C:\Users\Username\ Library' symbolic link and then mount my new 2TB drive as 'C:\Users\Username\ Library'. And 'C:\Users\Username\ Library' points to Library drive etc. So I have 'C:\Users\Username\ Documents' which points to the contents of my Documents drive. ![]() The key thing is that I don't mount these drives as letters (D:, E:, F: etc), but as folders within my user folder. One for Media (music, pictures, videos, downloads), one for Documents (projects, presets, text files etc), one for Library (samples, kontakt libraries, IRs). I have several drives dedicated for different data types. The 'big idea' of managing samples and libraries, for me personally, is using symbolic links. And this is for each Kontakt instance in a project. Libraries that don't require serial number are not presented in the Native Access, and so once you changed their location, all your projects will load with a prompt to find missing samples manually. The bad news is that this only works with libraries that come with serial numbers (and need to be registered via Native Access). Also, after relocating a library, when you load an old project that uses such library, Kontakt will find its new location automatically. You can move and relocate such libraries as much as you want. It is not so bad with Kontakt libraries - you'll just need to manually point Native Access to the location of every library you have already installed (or moved). If you were using your own samples and moved them, you'll need to find them manually next time you open a project. ![]() It doesn't matter if you have all the needed files on the other drive. It is as fucky as it sounds and this is the official way of doing it. On a new computer or new Windows install, you'll need to reinstall Maschine and all its sound packs via Native Access. ![]()
